Poulet

It was a random choice to go to Poulet and random choices usually bring surprises. Poulet means chicken in French. And the restaurant signboard boldly wrote "Amazing French roast chicken"..  So without a doubt, we ordered the house specialty, Poulet Roti ($15.80 for half chicken, $28.80 for whole chicken). It comes with mushrooms and white mushroom cream sauce beneath the chicken, as well as fresh veges. It was easy to debone the chicken as the meat was so tender. You have to soak the chicken in the mushroom cream sauce before eating.. I'm not a big fan of mushrooms but this was surprisingly so good. The mushroom sauce also makes the chicken less dry. I loved the roasted skin. This is now in my list of approved "contains mushroom" dishes.

The side dishes French fries ($4.80) and vegetables ($4.80) were decent. Loved the fries which were tasty..

One gripe about this place was that it doesn't provide iced water. Which actually causes the experience to be less pleasant as I got really thirsty from eating the fries.

With inexpensive prices, Poulet is a place with great ambience to get your French food fix. They also have outlets at Great World City, Chinatown point, Jurong Point and Vivocity.
